GEMPAK 7.4.3 has been released. This is a minor update with the following changes:

• Full support for GOES ABI fixed grid projection McIDAS AREA format (UNIWISC)
• New AWIPS lutfils for GOES 16 IR and WV channels (View samples)
• Corrected a bug in 7.4.2 snow squall warnings which caused dcwarn to generate false FFW warnings
• Updated zlib, HDF5, netCDF

MetPy 0.9.1 has been released. New features of the 0.9 series include cross-section support, more calculations, and support for plotting U.S. counties with CartoPy. For full release notes see the GitHub Release Page.

siphon 0.8.0 has been released with a variety of new features, including a client for downloading National Data Buoy Center text data and support for basic HTTP authentication. For full release notes see the GitHub Release Page.

Unidata AWIPS 17.1.1-6 is a minor release with the following changes:

• WarnGen bug fixes: for practice sessions, the WarnGen app no longer uses JMS to send/verify messages between client and server, instead sending the generated message directly to a TextWS window for editing, keeping everything client-side.
• postgis update to 2.4.4 to fix segfault signal 11 when WarnGen requests EDEX PostgreSQL to create coverage area geometries.
• geos update to 3.6.2.
• gdal update to 2.2.4.
• proj update to 5.1.0.
• postgresql and psql update to 9.5.13 to account for new versions of postgis, gdal, and proj, and to remove the geos dependency.
• shapely update to 1.6.4 after geos dep update to 3.6.2.
• NCP Resource Manager cleanup of unused resources (Linux only).
• Removed NSHARP D2D dependency on PGEN shapes.

CONUS imagery in GEMPAK 7.4.2

GEMPAK 7.4.2 is available as source code and binary packages for CentOS 6, CentOS 7, Fedora Core, and Ubuntu/Debian Linux.

Siphon 0.7.0 has been released with a variety of new features and some bug fixes. Packages are available for Conda and the Python Package Index (PyPI). For full release notes see the GitHub Release Page.

Version 4.6.1 of the netCDF-C library is now available. This is primarily a maintenance release; read on for details.

Unidata AWIPS 17.1.1-5 is now available for Red Hat/CentOS 6/7 and macOS. Unidata AWIPS is a meteorological display and analysis package originally developed by the National Weather Service and Raytheon, repackaged by Unidata to support non-operational use in research and education.

Version 4.6.0 of the netCDF-C library is now available. See the Release Notes for complete information. Highlights of this release include:

• Full support for using HDF5 dynamic filters, both for reading and writing.
• An option to enable strict null-byte padding for headers.
• Changes to support workflows created under versions prior to 4.5.0.
• Various bug fixes and other enhancements.
