TDS 4.6 Release Candidate

Unidata's demonstration THREDDS Data Server (TDS) at https://thredds.ucar.edu/thredds/ is currently running version 4.5 of the TDS server software. On May 18, 2015, this server will be updated to use TDS version 4.6. Read on for details on the new version and transition options.

GEMPAK 7.2.0

GEMPAK version 7.2.0 has been posted as source, linux64 RPM, and Solaris binary tarball.

Source files and binaries are available on the GEMPAK Download page.

Source files and additional information are also available at Unidata's GEMPAK GitHub site.

Changes include station and grib table updates, TDWR display fixes, VAD display fix in nmap2, FFFFF forecast hour template handling.

NCL Version 6.3.0

NCL

NCAR's Computational & Information Systems Laboratory released version 6.3.0 of the NCAR Command Language (NCL) on March 18, 2015.

NCL is a free interpreted language designed specifically for scientific data processing and visualization. It is a self-contained, array-based scripting language developed in close collaboration with scientists at NCAR and an active international user community that is specialized for analyzing and visualizing geoscientific data. It provides robust file input and output for a variety of commonly used scientific formats, including various flavors of NetCDF, HDF, GRIB, and shapefiles. NCL also contains hundreds of analysis functions and enables the creation of high quality custom-tailored 2D visualizations.
