
Welcome back to AWIPS Tips!
AWIPS 23.4.1-1 is a full AWIPS release (not in beta anymore!), with both EDEX and CAVE installation options.
This release (building upon previous 23.4.1 versions) includes a major upgrade for the operating system, running on Rocky 8 Linux – which is a free Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distribution for EDEX and linux based CAVE.
General
- Production Release (no longer in beta)
- Merged in NWS 23.4.1 code Nov 27, 2024
- Updates to Watches, Warnings, and Advisories (consolidating and adding new products)
- Fixed Flooding WarnGen Templates
- FV3 and ARW (HiResW) models are properly stored and available via Volume Browser
- National Database updates (to radars, buoys, metar stations, etc.)
- Update awips_install.sh script to work with Redhat/Rocky 9
- Updated Profiler data available via SBN and in AWIPS
- Incorporated TOWR-S v25.7 Updates
- New Advected Layer Precipitable Water (ALPW) product
- Updates to Gridded Turbulence for GOES 19 updates
- Updates to RRQPE product replacement
- New RGB Product - Blowing Snow
EDEX
edex
script, now returns the total number of users for the day- Update logfiles to return FQDN instead of just machine name
- Users running their own EDEX reports back daily to Unidata

EDEX Connection
Select the server in the Connectivity Preferences dialog, or enter **edex-cloud.unidata.ucar.edu**.
