Beth,

    IDV can be used to view the level III data too, you need to specify the 
'Data Source Type' as Nexrad radar files. The library IDV depends on reading 
the level III data can read most products you downloaded from NCDC, however, 
you may find a couple level III products can not be opened, these products are 
either new products or some products with complex data structure.
    You can also use the 'level II local' data chooser to open these levelIII 
products. Let me know if you have any problem, especially, with some new 
products.
