Hi Cedrick,

How much disk space you will need will depend on the range of data you get
and how long you want to keep it online. The volume of data in the various
feeds available in the IDD can be seen from the following link from our
real time stats pages:

You can view volumes of the feeds at:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/siteindex?idd.unidata.ucar.edu

Click on the Cumulative Volume Summary link at the bottom of the page and
after some amount of time (depends on how loaded our server is), you will
get a listing of data volumes in IDD feeds. Here is one example:

Data Volume Summary for idd.unidata.ucar.edu

Maximum hourly volume 13901.700 M bytes/hour
Average hourly volume 6574.972 M bytes/hour

Average products per hour 236077 prods/hour

Feed Average Maximum Products

You should check with Jennifer to see what datastreams will be wanted
and how long it will be desired to keep the data online and then use the
information above as an estimate for how much disk should be made
available. My initial guess that you would want to have at least
10-100 GB of data at any time, but this is just a guess.

Cheers,

Tom
