2021 Summer Intern Lydia Bunting

NSF Unidata Program Center

Lydia Bunting joined the Unidata Program Center as a software development summer intern on May 17, 2021. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University in the spring of 2020, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Atmospheric Science at Texas Tech University.

Says Lydia:

Unidata — especially the MetPy project — struck me as such an interesting way to support and facilitate research efforts into the atmosphere and its processes. I’ve used MetPy and Python for atmospheric science research previously, and I’m very interested in seeing how the software is created and used by other researchers and scientists.
