Hailey Johnson
2018 Summer Intern Hailey Johnson
NSF Unidata Program Center
Hailey Johnson joined the Unidata Program Center as a software development intern for the summer of 2018. As of the fall of 2018, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences with a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida. Her dissertation research focuses on numerical methods and applications in coastal sciences, concentrating on improvements to numerical modeling of coastline evolution. Her main goal during her internship was to improve the THREDDS Data Server user experience, primarily through a redesign of the TDS web interface.
Says Hailey:
I’ve always enjoyed software engineering in any context, but it's far more rewarding to design solutions for problems in interesting fields. Earth Science has always been, broadly speaking, my favorite topic, and I’m excited to contribute to the Geosciences field this summer by working on data availability and access.
