Unidata is hosting a Short Course on Integrating WRF and Other Model Output with Remote and In-situ Observational Datasets using Unidata's Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) on 2nd February 2014, preceding the 94th AMS Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Preliminary programs, registration, hotel, and general information are posted on the AMS Annual Meeting Web site. To register for the Short Course from the meeting site, select Registration from the site menu, then Online Registration. You'll have to log in to register for the course, so have your AMS login information handy.

Join the Data Stewardship Sessions at the 94th AMS Annual Meeting

The American Meteorological Society's Board on Data Stewardship will be organizing sessions on topics related to Data Stewardship at the 94th AMS Annual Meeting, which will take place 2-6 February 2014 in Atlanta, GA.

Deadline Extended — abstracts for the Data Stewardship sessions will now be accepted until is 15 August 2013.

AMS 2013 Conference Highlights from the Unidata Staff

This year's annual American Meteorological Society meeting in Austin, Texas hosted more than 3400 attendees — more than the 2012 meeting — despite the fact that many government employees were unable to attend due to uncertainties about the federal budget. We were happy to see many of the Unidata community members participating in the meeting at our booth in the exhibit hall, and to meet so many prospective community members at the AMS Student Conference.

With so much going on at the conference, we can't cover everything here. Instead, we present some highlights as recalled by UPC staff members who attended.

Unidata Staff at AMS 2013 Meeting

AMS Meeting 2013

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the 93nd annual American Meteorology Society meeting, January 6-10 2013, in Austin, Texas. Unidata will be in Booth 524 in the exhibit hall (map); feel free to stop by to talk with us. The booth will feature live, hands-on demonstrations of Unidata software and services, including a look at the current state of the AWIPS II environment. Come and talk with the developers about what's coming up and what you'd like to see.
