Unidata's Data Hallway

When Unidata's flagship data facility — the Unidata Data Hallway — had its debut in April 2013, everyone in our community expected big things. “Big Data” was the phrase of the day, and the exponential increase in data volumes seemed likely to portend accompanying increases in the amount of computing infrastructure required to make all of that data available. From co-located server farms to elastically expanding cloud-computing resources, the future of the Data Hallway and similar facilities looked Big Big Big.

Welcome Communications Intern Larissa Gordon

Larissa Gordon

Larissa Gordon joined the Unidata Program Center as a summer communication intern on March 14th, 2016. Larissa has just completed her Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in Evolutionary Biology; she also earned minors in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science and Creative Writing, Fiction Studies.

Her primary interest in her undergraduate career was the interaction between biota and climate, specifically in a marine environment.

Unidata Staff at AMS 2016 Meeting

AMS Meeting 2016

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the 96th annual American Meteorology Society meeting, January 10-14 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Unidata will be in Booth 224 in the exhibit hall; feel free to stop by to talk with us. The booth will feature live, hands-on demonstrations of Unidata software and services, including a look at the current state of the AWIPS II environment. Come and talk with the developers about what's coming up and what you'd like to see.

Unidata Staff at AGU Fall 2015 Meeting

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the American Geophysical Union 2015 Fall meeting, December 14-18 2015, in San Francisco. The schedule below lists specific sessions at which UPC staff will be in attendance. See the AGU Fall meeting Scientific Program for additional information on the sessions.

In addition to speaking and presenting posters, Unidata staff will be spending time at the UCAR Community Programs booth in the Exhibit Hall.
