Unidata Staff at AMS 2017 Meeting

AMS 2017

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the 97th annual American Meteorology Society meeting, 22-26 January 2017 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington. Unidata will be in Booth 426 in the exhibit hall; feel free to stop by to talk with us. The booth will feature live, hands-on demonstrations of Unidata software and services, including a look at the current state of the AWIPS environment. Come and talk with the developers about what's coming up and what you'd like to see.

EIPT Hackathon at the Seattle AMS Meeting

AMS 2017

The Conference on Environmental Information Processing Technologies (EIPT) is organizing a “hackathon” during the 2017 AMS Annual Meeting in Seattle. The hackathon will be hosted by Cray Supercomputing, and is open to anyone interested in “noodling with the data and getting an opportunity to utilize supercomputing time or just work through a problem we’ve posed,” according to the event organizers.

There will be a meet up for participants on Sunday evening the 22nd of January from 5-8pm at Cray Supercomputing (which is close to the Convention Center). For details about the event or to sign up to participate, see the EIPT Hackathon 2017 web site.

EarthCube All Hands Meeting

The National Science Foundation (NSF) EarthCube initiative is a community-driven project aimed at creating an integrated environment for the sharing of geoscience data and knowledge in an open, transparent, and inclusive manner. All members of the geoscience community are invited to participate in the 2016 EarthCube All Hands Meeting, to be held July 6-8, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.

The theme for this year's meeting is “EarthCube Connects,” emphasizing the connectivity between cyberinfrastructure (CI) technologies, geoscience domains, and geoscientists that is EarthCube's focus.
