Hi Brian,

Good move on rebooting the machine to free the port. I don't knwo why
rpcinfo didn't work for you.

pqact is the program that files the data. To see what's going on with
pqact, I recommend starting it from the command line in debug mode,
similar to what you did with rpc.ldmd. That is, do the following:

- stop the ldm
- in ldmd.conf comment out the line that says "exec pqact"
- start the ldm

At this point all the rpc.ldmds will be running and probably pqbinstats,
but pqact will not. Now,

- from the command line, do 'pqact -x -l -'

This will give you output that you will have to kill with a cntl-c, like
you did for rpc.ldmd. You can send the output to me if the problem is
not immediately obvious to you.

Once we solve whatever problems pqact is having, you'll want to go back
in ldmd.conf and put the "exec pqact" line back in, so that it will be
started when the ldm is started.

stokes is up and getting data, but I'm not seeing any NEXRAD data, which
is odd. I assume that you are only requesting NEXRAD data from stokes.
If stokes doesn't have any NEXRAD data, that would explain your time
out. I will look into this tomorrow. I'm surprised other people
haven't reported this.

By the way, we have Mark MacLennan listed as the contact person for
uiowa in our web page,
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/idd/sitelist.html. Do we need to
update that page? If so, would you please send the relevant info?
Thank you.
