Hi Jim,

Super!

re:

Excellent!

re:

Thanks for letting me know; I just removed all three files from our anonymous
FTP site.

re:

I'm glad that you didn't run into any hiccups.

OK, I will comment after I check out the settings.

The only things that I see that is incorrect (but will change) are the
definitions
of MCSRC, MCUPDATE and MCVER. Right now, they all have reference to 2009. This
should change as soon as the user 'mcidas' installs v2019 and then logs off and
then logs back on ASSUMING that the environment is set as per recommendations
in:

Preparing the mcidas Account
https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/mcidas/current/users_guide/PreparingthemcidasAccount.html

In essence, what this page directs the user to do is to add 'sourcing' of
the 'mcidas' environment setting file (~mcidas/env/mcidas_env.(sh|csh)) in
one's shell definition file (e.g., .bash_profile for BASH users; .cshrc for
CShell users, etc.).

Comment:

If you uninstall the v2009 executables using the following (and only the
following), you can always reinstall it later if need be:

<as 'mcidas'>
cd ~/mcidas2009/src
make uninstall.all

This simply removes the v2009 executables from the MCBIN directory.
Since those executables are simple hard links to executables in the
MCSRC directory, only the executables in the MCBIN directory get
removed, and the ones in the MCSRC directory are left alone.

Cheers,

Tom
