Hi Jim,

Hmm...

re:

Oops, the two periods between unidata and ucar should be
a single period. When I use that name:

ftp.unidata.ucar.edu

on my home machine, it works with no problems.

Try using 'ftp' instead of 'sftp':

ftp ftp.unidata.ucar.edu

Alternatively, you can use your browser with the URL:

ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/mcidas

I just tried both of these access methods from home, and both work for
me.

Cheers,

Tom
