The answer is yes.


- if you setup a new machine, please make sure to have your network folks
  setup both forward AND reverse DNS for it

  Why?  If there is reverse DNS for your machine, and the IP address
  resolves to a '.gov' address, you will be able to automatically
  REQUEST the IDS|DDPLUS feed from the top level IDD relay we operate
  here in UCAR, idd.unidata.ucar.edu, because we maintain a blanket
  ALLOW for '.gov' machines.
