RE: 20060601:IDD Request

Hi Rob,

It is a unique situation.

First (as you know), they are non-standard GEMPAK and LDM installs, which
makes support difficult.

Second, they are not a university or research organization, so do not fall
under our "supported communities".

We worked for quite some time to get SDAPCD up and running, as the IP and
hostnames were different than originally provided, and SJSU (who agreed to
feed SDAPCD) had a fairly restrictive firewall.

So given these conditions we felt it best for the APCD's to begin their
own topology, with SDAPCD being the top node and ingesting from SJSU, and
feeding others.

Thoughts,

Jeff
