I see that sunny is still getting an IDD feed through thelma:

$ iddlist | grep thelma
tcp        0  93440 thelma.ucar.edu:ldm         sunny.atmos.washingto:21390 
ESTABLISHED

Did you stop and restart the LDM on sunny after making the request change?

Yes, I did restart the ldm.  I did a netstat on sunny, and I see no 
connection to thelma.  Perhaps it took a while to timeout on thelma.
