They are probably in a separate math library (libm.a or libm.so). Please try the following 1. Go to the top-level source-directory. 2. Execute the command "make distclean". 3. Set your environment variables as before. 4. Set the environment variable LD_MATH so that it contains an ld(1) reference to the math library. For example: export LD_MATH=-lm 5. Proceed with the rest of the build process beginning with the "configure" command. Redirect both the standard output AND standard error streams into the output files.
