You may find it very helpful to check out the online tutorial, which can be found at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/THREDDS/tech/tds4.2/tutorial/ It seems like you have Tomcat and the THREDDS Data Server (TDS) up and running, but it may be useful to check out some of the installation info on those to read up on some suggestions about securing TDS.
