Bobby, I do have two corrections for your FAQ: > NetCDF was developed a few years later by the National Center for Atmospheric > Research (NCAR). NetCDF was developed a few years later at Unidata, part of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. [Unidata is not part of NCAR, although they are both under UCAR.] > netCDF software reads and writes data in only the XDR data encoding. netCDF-3 software reads and writes data in only the XDR data encoding, but netCDF-4 supports native encodings by default, using a "reader makes right" approach for portability. That last one may be too long for your FAQ, in which case it would be correct to just omit the implication that netCDF only supports XDR. --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: BLZ-140951 Department: Support netCDF Priority: Normal Status: Closed
