[McIDAS #HMV-801244]: ASCII file display in McIDAS-X

I understand that you are trying to find a way to use the HDF formatted
imagery from FY2G so you can run the ADT analyses on in McIDAS.  I
think dumping data into an ASCII file, bringing it into McIDAS as
POINT data (data stored in an MD file), gridding it (objective analysis)
and then turning the grid into an image will _not_ get you to where
you need to be to use the ADT routines.

Previously, I sent you information about registering with the SSEC Data
Center to get satellite imagery from them.  I was told that they have
FY2G imagery in AREA format, so that may be your best route to get
to where you want to go (if the ABoM connection doesn't come through
for you).  I do not know that the SSEC Data Center has the specific
days/times that you need, but it is worth pursuing.  At least, that
is the route that I would take.
