Dear Leonard, As you know, I have been trying to re-install LDM-McIDAS since we moved back to Wood Hall, 2 years ago. Regardless the many times I have tried, with help from the University of Wisconsin(Chad) and with Tom Yoksas from UNIDATA support, things always got stuck when the installation required root access. I had this subcontract with University of Virginia and NASA that is expiring at the end of this month. Even though I have the data to analyse I could never do it because I did not have ldm-mcidas-x installed. I have a CE student (Matthews Williams) who is willing to help me. But YOU need to do the aaccount preparation (mcidas and mcadde) because they are all done at the root administration level. The information is at the UNIDATA website; http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/mcidas/mcx/index.html I do need this to be done before the end of theis week. John knows the new code to enter the Meteorology lab. Thanks a lot for your help. From this comment I am assuming that McIDAS-X, -XCD, LDM, and ldm-mcidas are to be installed on a machine named s418.lab2.cc.wmich.edu. His name is Matthew Williams. PLease give him all the support you can, including download passwords for ldm and mcidas. Thnak you so much.
