Hi John,
    You can click the middle mouse button to show the value of cursor read out. 
You can also select the parameter and select the "Probes > Data Probe/Time 
Series" under the Displays panel in Field Selector, and create the display, and 
after that, you can move the probe point in the view window. Please reference 
the user guide for more detail information.

 Or mayb I can pick a coordinate to show values as the time series plays on?  
if not, can I display the data as gridded values with continuous color rather 
than contours?  Thanks.
