HI - Long time no talk to, hope everything
is going good for you at unidata!

Busy, busy, busy.

I just took a look at the IDV - pretty good stuff,
so I think I will bring it up on the USU database server - have one dumb question, and I know I asked
already - but can't find your response

Can I use the IDV on a non-educational system - i.e.
a small business ( Not my own, but one in California!)?
They just purchased a 14 processor Bewoulf Cluster from Linux Network, and I installed MM5 on it - WOW is it a kick ass system - using linpak we got over 50Gflops
for system that cost less than a medium fancy car! Any
way - they need a system to view lots of different kind climate climate data, and this looks like it might fill
the job.

As long as they adhere to the GNU LGPL license, it's fine.
Support is a different issue, but we can try to accommodate
any IDV questions as time permits, just as we do with
netCDF and LDM which are have similar (but not the same)
licensing/use conditions.

We would be interested in finding out how the IDV is
being used and any problems what arise or suggestions
for improvements.

Dan

P.S. USU is STILLLLL working the details for the DataBase Project!
So - don't know yet weather I will have a job or not, that's why
I do little jobs like the MM5 mentioned above!

Keeps you off the streets, eh?

Good hearing from you and let us know if you have questions
about the IDV.

Don
