[LDM #GHA-946718]: Lost connectivity to idd.unidata.ucar.edu at 10:41 UTC

Hi,

re:

The only way to hardwire someting in the LDM configuration file,
~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf, is to do the REQUEST(s) by IP address instead
of by name. I was asking if someone had hardwired an IP <-> name
association in /etc/hosts.

re:

I believe that it does a 'gethostbyip' call, and that should use
the DNS that is setup.

Quick test:

- what is the result of:

<as 'ldm'>
notifyme -vl- -f NEXRAD3 -h 128.117.130.3

If this works, you could change your LDM configuration file REQUEST
to be by IP address while the DNS issue is sorted out there.

Cheers,

Tom
