Try the following action that is distributed with Unidata GEMPAK:

# MAV - MOS_Aviation_Based_Guidance_From_AVN_Model
WMO     ^...... .... ([0-3][0-9])([0-2][0-9])([0-5][0-9]).*/p(MAV)
        FILE    data/GFS_MOS/(\1:yy)(\1:mm)\1\2.\4
