RE: 20050307:data decoders

Hello Nazario,

We deliver real time data to universities and research facilities.

We do have an HDS/HRS feed via the IDD that you can ingest if you are
running an LDM (Local Data Manager). The HDS/HRS feed contains much of the
model output from NCEP..NAM|ETA, GFS|AVN, RUC, NGM..etc.

Please see:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/ldm/ldm-current/index.html

and:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/ldm/ldm-current/basics/feedtypes/index.html

The data is delivered to the LDM via the network or Internet
Data Distribution..the IDD.

Please see:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/idd/iddgeneral.html

I believe Amos Winter had the LDM up and runing at UPRM for awhile, not
sure of its current status.

Yes, you can subscribe to the IDD, but you would first need to install the
LDM.

After your LDM is installed, I will determine an appropriate "upstream
feed host" for your data needs...and if we know what format you want the
model output to be in, we can hopefully set you up with some decoders as
well.

The LDM can file and/or act on the data as it arrives, so it is very
useful for "managing your data" :)

Cheers,

Jeff
