Jeff,

>Tom, I'm not getting access to thelma yet from berry.wunderground.com, did
>you restart the ldm on thelma?

Yes. The time stamps on ldmd.conf and the ldmd.pid file coupled with
the allow content of ldmd.conf verify this:

/local/ldm% dir etc/ldmd.conf
    722587 -rw-r--r-- 1 ustaff 10410 Apr 4 10:15 etc/ldmd.conf
/local/ldm% dir ldmd.pid
    685991 -rw-rw-r-- 1 ustaff 6 Apr 4 11:36 ldmd.pid

allow ANY-WSI-NLDN frost.wunderground.com
allow ANY-WSI-NLDN ^(berry|whirlpool)\.wunderground\.com$
allow ANY-WSI-NLDN ^(sleet|ingestor)\.wunderground\.com$

I am seeing connection denied messages in thelma's LDM log file:

Apr 04 19:42:57 thelma.ucar.edu rpc.ldmd[29330]: gethostbyaddr: failed for
66.28.250.166
Apr 04 19:42:57 thelma.ucar.edu rpc.ldmd[29330]: Denying connection from
66.28.250.166

When I saw your original email, I checked to see if I could do a
name lookup for berry.wunderground.com:

(laraine.unidata.ucar.edu) 790 % nslookup -sil berry.wunderground.com
Server: 128.117.140.62
Address: 128.117.140.62#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: berry.wunderground.com
Address: 66.28.250.166

and this incorrectly satisfied me that berry was set to go.
I just checked the reverse lookup and see that it is failing:

(laraine.unidata.ucar.edu) 793 % nslookup -sil 66.28.250.166
Server: 128.117.140.62
Address: 128.117.140.62#53

** server can't find 166.250.28.66.in-addr.arpa: NXDOMAIN

So, this is the problem.

Can you check into the DNS setup for berry? This is where the problem
lies.

In a previous message to me, you wrote:

Jeff,

You should be good to go for feeding DIFAX from mapmaker.
Let me know of any problems.
