Description
AWIPS II demos in Unidata's AMS booth

For many in the Unidata community -- including Unidata Program Center staff -- the annual American Meteorological Society meeting is a whirlwind event that leaves attendees sorting through new ideas for quite some time after the conference itself has ended. Unidata staff are making their way back to Boulder from this year's American Meteorological Society meeting in New Orleans. It was a productive meeting for all involved, and we were happy to have so many community members stop by our booth in the exhibition hall and at the student Career Fair.

We were also happy to have members of the AWIPS II project team from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction join us in the exhibition hall. Demonstrations of AWIPS II and the IDV were popular and led to a lot of interesting discussion.

Watch this space in the coming days for additional observations from Unidata Program Center staff members who attended the meeting.

If you're interested in the AWIPS II project and attending the American Meteorological Society meeting in New Orleans, make some time in your schedule to stop by Unidata's booth in the exhibit hall. Unidata developer Michael James will be providing demonstrations throughout the day, and we'll also be hosting additional demonstrations by project leaders from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction.
