NetCDF operators (NCO) version 5.1.1

NCO

Version 5.1.1 of the netCDF Operators (NCO) has been released. NCO is an Open Source package that consists of a dozen standalone, command-line programs that take netCDF files as input, then operate (e.g., derive new data, average, print, hyperslab, manipulate metadata) and output the results to screen or files in text, binary, or netCDF formats.

AWIPS Tips: Localization in EDEX

AWIPS uses a hierarchical system known as Localization to allow site and user-specific customizations of many aspects of EDEX and CAVE, such as available menu items, color maps, and derived parameters.

This Tip shows an example of how you can create a user-configuration override. As an example of something you might want to customize in your own configuratino, we are going to change the displayed units for Wind Speed Arrows from knots to mph.

The UCAR COSMIC (Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate) Program's 2023 GNSS Remote Sensing Colloquium will be held in-person June 5-16, 2023 in Boulder, Colorado.

Unidata Staff at AGU Fall 2022 Meeting

The American Geophysical Union will be conducting a hybrid in-person and virtual conference for its 2022 Fall meeting, December 12-16 2022, with live events taking place in Chicago, IL. Several Unidata staff members will be presenting as part of the AGU Scientific Program; read on for a schedule of their talks and posters.

Unidata Program Center developers write regularly on technical topics on the Unidata Developer's Blog. In November the MetPy Mondays series looks at taming GRIB files with XARRAY, using Conda environment files, and saving space with Conda Clean.

Unidata's Users Committee met in joint session with the Strategic Advisory Committee on November 14-15, 2022 in Boulder, CO. Dates for the spring committee meeting will be announced shortly.
