Unidata Staff at AMS 2021 Meeting

AMS 2021 Annual Meeting

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the 101st annual American Meteorology Society meeting, to be held virtually 9-15 January 2021. The schedule below lists sessions or posters presented by staff members. It also lists times when we'll be available to chat in our AMS Virtual Booth.

Note: while the larger UCAR organization has an official booth in the virtual exhibit hall, Unidata has chosen a system we think makes video chat interactions a little easier. We've set up a separate site that allows you to join us via the Airmeet virtual events platform. We hope you'll stop by with questions, or just to chat, during our exhibit hours.

Student Conference Python Workshop

In the wake of last year's successful student conference Python workshop, we're trying a virtual version this year. For information about what that looks like, visit Unidata AMS 2021 Python Workshop.

If you're participating in the Student Conference, you can join the Python workshop. The workshop gets started with an orientation session on Sunday afternoon, January 10th — choose either session 8B.i or 8B.ii to learn how the workshop will operate, and then join workshop leaders and your peers during “office hours” in Unidata's virtual booth environment. (See the schedule below for information on office hours.)

Workshop Participants: Please register for the workshop by January 7, 2021 using this Registration Form. We'll need your GitHub user ID in order to provide access to the workshop resources.

Student Conference Career Fair

Student Conference participants who want to learn more about the Unidata program, the data and software we make available, and internships at the Unidata Program Center can stop by our virtual table during the two Career Fair sessions: Saturday, Jan 9th, 4-5:30pm EST and Monday, Jan. 11th, 5-6:30pm EST. Access to the virtual table is managed through the AMS virtual conference system.

Conference Sessions

The schedule below lists selected sessions at which Unidata staff (and summer interns) will be presenting or attending. See the AMS meeting Conference Technical Program for additional information on the sessions.
