Thanks for the information; it's good to here about all your
progress.  The multi-file level plugin sounds interesting, especially
if it could make multiple files with the same structure appear as if
they were only one file to the user (an aggregation operation).

I can't give you much useful feedback, since lately I'm not doing much
development on my PowerBook, just presentations, proposals, and
documents.  I hope to be able to get back to development again soon.
But I'll be happy to include mention of it on our web site when you're
ready to make it generally available.

For your paper on geologists use of netCDF, you might look at the use
within USGS, especially within the USGS Woods Hole Field Center for
Coastal and Marine Geology, where Chuck Denham has written a MATLAB
toolbox for netCDF and made it available for Classic Mac OS.
