20000202: Decoding archived data w/ DCUAIR

Patrick,

Dave blanchard must not have updated the program for 5.2.1.
I was able to use the code from the 5.2.1 and it built with the 5.4
libraries and decoded your input data.

The tarfile is in ~gbuddy/nawips-5.4/contrib/snrawd.tar.Z

You can download this to a clean local directory and build in your 5.4
environment with:

zcat snrawd.tar.Z | tar xvf -
make

I have included your raw data in the directory as market.dat.
You should be able to decode the data by running:

% sncfil
 SNOUTF Output sounding file testme.gem
SNPRMF Sounding parameter packing file SNMERG.PACK
 STNFIL Station information file snworld.tbl
MRGDAT Merge data file flag/part type n
 TIMSTN Times/additional stations 8/200
 Parameters requested: SNOUTF,SNPRMF,STNFIL,MRGDAT,TIMSTN.
 GEMPAK-SNCFIL>r

 SNCFIL PARAMETERS:

 New sounding file: testme.gem

 Station file: snworld.tbl

Number of stations in STNFIL: 1178
 Number of additional stations: 200
 Total number of stations: 1378
 Total number of times: 8

This file will be an unmerged sounding file containing
mandatory and significant data below and above 100 mb.

Enter <cr> to accept parameters or type EXIT:
 The file has been created.
 Parameters requested: SNOUTF,SNPRMF,STNFIL,MRGDAT,TIMSTN.
 GEMPAK-SNCFIL>e

% snrawd
 SNEFIL Sounding edit file market.dat
 SNFILE Sounding data file testme.gem
 DATTIM Date/time 870525/1200
 ADDSTN Add station flag YES
 Parameters requested: SNEFIL,SNFILE,DATTIM,ADDSTN.
 GEMPAK-SNRAWD>r

 SNRAWD PARAMETERS:

 Raw data file: market.dat
 Sounding file: testme.gem
 Time range: 870525/1200

New stations will be added to the sounding file.

Enter <cr> to accept parameters or type EXIT:
 Parameters requested: SNEFIL,SNFILE,DATTIM,ADDSTN.
 GEMPAK-SNRAWD>e

% snlist
 SNFILE   = testme.gem

Everything is all set up to run in that directory with the nts files and
ancillary pdf, parm, err and hlp files. If you run elsewhere, you should
copy those ancillary files to the appropriate directories under $GEMPAKHOME.
