[AWIPS #NDX-973698]: Cave on RHEL 9

Hi Gyorgyi,

Have you already migrated your Linux Computer lab from RHEL7 to RHEL9?  We are 
trying to 
get a RHEL9 (Rocky9) based machine to test CAVE on.  So far we haven't had a 
huge 
success, but we're hoping to test on a physical machine tomorrow (instead of a 
virtual
one), and we can keep you posted with how it goes.

Running CAVE on Windows may be a solution, but we have seen reduced performance 
(CAVE can
be much slower) on Windows platforms compared to Linux ones.  Both versions 18 
and 20 run
on Windows.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this:
> If I keep my server version 18, will it break when you switch yours to 20?

Do you mean if the students are using CAVE and switching between your server 
and our server?
Currently, we have both v18 and v20 EDEX servers available to the public.

I'll report back if we make any positive progress testing CAVE on Rocky9.
