The netCDF-Java 5.9.1 release had an issue where the toolsUI jar was missing a critical properties file, preventing the application from launching. This has been fixed in a new toolsUI-only release, v5.9.1.1, available on the NSF Unidata netCDF-Java downloads page and GitHub. Additionally, netCDF-Java command-line utilities and toolsUI are now available via conda-forge thanks to community efforts!

The NSF Unidata THREDDS development team is happy to announce the release of version 5.9.1 of the netCDF-Java/Common Data Model (CDM) library. This release contains a number of bug fixes for user reported problems, including a major bug that can be triggered in multithreaded environments.

The NSF Unidata THREDDS development team released netCDF-Java 5.8.0 on May 8th, 2025. This release contains a number of upgrades to third party libraries, a variety of bug fixes, and several new features and improvements.
