I feel obligated to send along: Disclaimer. The composite radar images in the IDD FNEXRAD datastream are experimental. They are generated and maintained within a research environment at the Unidata Program Center and are not intended to be considered operational. Timeliness, availability, and accuracy are sought but not guaranteed. The composite radar images available through the set of cooperating Unidata site servers is, of course, just these images, so the disclaimer applies to them also. >Thanks! Later... I just sent it along to Wayne (we're using his AIX machine to do all the McIDAS-gathering and GIF preparations again). I think the collaboration idea for the weather folks will be good. We had one set up for IHOP, but I don't think anyone used it. For CRYSTAL, two of our scientists are quite used to it, and already had a 'dress rehersal'. Anyway, it looked like your composites were going to be the best thing to use for overlays, but we'll let the scientists judge. Take care -- and thanks again!! tom p.s. Yea, I read the disclaimer on the web page (had to squint, though ;-) -- I figure it's no worse than getting the single radars from here though... -- Tom Whittaker University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies Telephone/VoiceMail: 608.262.2759
