[LDM #MDC-227212]: LDM Compile Error

Hi Lysanias,

First, it was good to talk to you yesterday!

Second, I just wanted to finish off a thought that I started to express
during yesterday's WebEx:

If I were faced with the task of (possibly) consolidating feed REQUESTs
to lessen system load, I would first try to determine the full set of
upstream machines (by IP or by name) as follows:

<as 'ldm'>
cd ~ldm
grep -i ^request etc/ldmd.conf | grep <feedtype> | awk '{print $4, $3}' | sort

In your case, <feedtype> would be replaced by ANY, EXP, FSL3, or WMO

The listing will show if there are multiple REQUEST lines for the
specified feedtype to the same upstream machine. If there are, the
candidates second parameter listed will show the extended regular
expressions for the products that could be put into a single REQUEST
line.

Cheers,

Tom
