If you don't get the prompt back after running:

ldmadmin start

it typically means that you have an error in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf.  In this
case you need to (re)edit this file and look for and fix the offending
line(s).  The problem is usually hard to spot since it is most likely
some kind of a typo.
