Hi Elmer, First, I apologize if you got multiple responses on receipt of your email. I was moving the request into a different department, and got a couple of hiccups from the system. re: > I have been trying to decode a file from a command line based on what I > can find on your web site. > > The command I entered was: > /home/ldm/ldm-mcidas-7.6.4/bin/pnga2area -vxl- -f > /data/ldm/radar/1km/n0r/n0r_20070731_1647 -d /home/ldm 8000 > and I get: > Jul 31 16:54:21 pnga2area[24531]: Starting Up > Jul 31 16:54:21 pnga2area[24531]: Input fails word 0 AREA test > > > Does this mean the data I am getting isn't png compressed? No. The 1 km N0R composite in the FNEXRAD feed is a PNG-compressed GINI image, not a PNG-compressed AREA image. Instead of 'pnga2area' you should be using the LDM-McIDAS decoder 'pngg2gini'.
