I didn't see one in the >source build distribution. Can I dump one from a mcidas >session based on the current active ROUTE.SYS? I distribute the DROUTE.BAT file with Unidata McIDAS-X. Since you havn't upgraded your McIDAS-X installation in awhile, you are not likely to have a copy that has all of the entries you need. I am including the copy of DROUTE.BAT that generated the ldm-mcidas copy of ROUTE.SYS at the end of this email. I recommend that you make a local copy of this file named LROUTE.BAT, and put this file in your ~mcidas/data directory. Then, you can recreate ROUTE.SYS any time you like by: o make sure you have a REDIRECTion that points to the copy of ROUTE.SYS that is located in the directory into which pnga2area decodes o run: BATCH LROUTE.BAT >2. Is the path to postprocessing *.BAT files only defined >in the ldm-mcidas' batch.k? ie., I want to make sure that >the path used for postprocessing the gif products is exactly >where I think it is. McIDAS finds files it needs to use through two complimentary facilities: MCPATH and REDIRECT. MCPATH is a colon-separated list of directories that is searched by McIDAS programs when it looks for data and ancillary data files (like BATCH files). REDIRECTions are more specific ways of locating files than MCPATH, and they take precedence over MCPATH searches. REDIRECTions are stored in a file named LWPATH.NAM which should be located in the user's McIDAS-X working directory. A user's McIDAS-X working directory is ~mcidas/workdata for the user 'mcidas' and ~user/mcidas/data for a user named 'user'. The McIDAS REDIRECT command builds, edits, and generally maintains LWPATH.NAM. You add entries to LWPATH.NAM by running REDIRECT commands from a McIDAS-X session. See the McIDAS-X online help for REDIRECT (HELP REDIRECT) for more information. The MCPATH search list is defined in the batch.k shell script that is being run by the ROUTE PostProcess invocation. So, the answer to your question is that you must pay attention to both the MCPATH setting in batch.k AND the set of REDIRECTions defined in ~mcidas/workdata/LWPATH.NAM. <snip> ----------------- DROUTE.BAT --------------------------------------- REM ?
