Hi Bill,

I did some digging last Friday and the outcome does not sound good.

The Mesowest chooser has developed a decade ago, and the security protocol of
HTTP has been greatly changed since then. We
beef up our SSL/TLS security with stronger ciphers in the IDV and this caused
the server-side CGI not supporting those ciphers.

I checked with the Mesowest side to find out details, Zach Rieck the Research
Associate from the University of Utah told me
the CGI query is trying to access it no longer supported by Mesowest, and they
moved to the sister site Synoptic Data now, behind
the Synotic Data site is JavaScript. What this means to the IDV is that we need
to develop a new data chooser, but I don't
enough community support for this new development effort. So I will put it on
hold and remove the plugin from our list until we
have the resource to redo this data chooser.

Best,

Yuan
