I'll stick with our present solution (1 file per swath) which we provide over thredds, 12 "latest" files for the past 12 hours. Although not ideal this is workable for now. If you need input on how to make this work in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me. I have already made a program which creates the files the way I think they should be (with a time axis and a fixed "swath length" dimension), so this could possibly be a starting point.
