20041119: IDV 16-bit imagery

Okay, here's the deal.  The IDV can read it with the following
caveats:

1) Since it's a GOES image, the elements are oversampled so you
get it stretched in the x direction.  If you have the option
when you select the images, ask for a blowdown of -2 in the element
direction.  At this point, the IDV does not have the ability to
do any subsetting from local disk like we can with the ADDEs servers.

Alternatively, you could download the images and set them up under
your own ADDE server and access them through the IDV that way.

2) Because it's 16-bit data, the data range is from 0-32767.  Use the
Change Range... menu item from the ColorTable dropdown menu to set
the range to this and you can see the image.
