From the Cataloged Data chooser, you'll need to expand the
dataset to pick an individual model run (or the latest) by clicking
on the tree tab to the left of the model name.  Then you can select
one of the datasets (indicated by a round blue dot).

In the latest version of the IDV, the "Add Source" button is
disabled until you select a dataset, lessening the confusion
you ran into.
