Hi Robert,
>I know Unidata installed a box at SSEC to serve up GVAR data via ADDE
>that is higher res/more frequent than is available in the IDD.
Yes.
>Is there also a box or dataset that is for general use for 6-hourly
>METEOSAT/GMS/INDOEX?
Not that we are in charge of or have administrative access to.
>I know there is an ADDE server for METEOSAT
>in Canada..but it's data is very old..12Z imagery not available till 14Z
>many times.
The last time I looked, the Canadian server only had one image in its
dataset. I have been meaning to setup an ADDE dataset on either
adde.ucar.edu or unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu that would host all Meteosat
channels for freely available times (0, 6, 12, 18Z). I have also
wanted to backfill the dataset with half-hourly data after it becomes 3
days old.
>NSBF would be perfect for that, but John Hobbie does not want to deal

So, do you think that NSBF would be willing to act as a server for the
data _if_ the administration of the ADDE server could be taken care of?
>Thanks,
Later...
