[AWIPS #PEA-673558]: Grid products have stopped working on AWIPS

Thank you for the additional information.
What do you mean, exactly, by not being able to retrieve the data/the data is 
not 
available?  Are you loading data through the menus, product browser, or volume 
browser?
Do you ever end up with any errors in AlertView?  You can open AlertView by 
going to
this menu option:  CAVE > Open Open AlertView

You might be on to something with the python removal though.  Our current 
version of
CAVE still uses Python2.7, so at the very least there are definitely some other 
features that won't work for sure.

One alternative that might work for you... Are you able to install any kind of 
VM 
software?  VirtualBox or something like that?  You could possibly run a 
previous 
version of Mac (not super likely because I don't think they virtualize well) or 
an
installation of CentOS7 and then run CAVE in that?  One downside of running in 
a 
VM that we are aware of: it cannot render RGB products (satellite), so if that 
is 
important to you, this might not be a feasible solution.
