Welcome to the New NSF Unidata Website

NSF Unidata's revamped website uses the same visual design theme and underlying web infrastructure as other UCAR websites. We are still in the process of transferring content from the old site, so not everything is available here yet.
IDV 7.0u1

IDV version 7.0 update 1 (7.0u1) is available for download. This is a bug fix release.
netCDF-Java version 5.9.1 released

The NSF Unidata THREDDS development team is happy to announce the release of version 5.9.1 of the netCDF-Java/Common Data Model (CDM) library. This release contains a number of bug fixes for user reported problems, including a major bug that can be triggered in multithreaded environments.
ESIP Community Fellowships

Earth Science Information Partners is now accepting applications for the next cohort for ESIP Community Fellows.
TDS version 5.7 released

The NSF Unidata THREDDS development team released the THREDDS Data Server (TDS) version 5.7 on September 23rd, 2025. This release contains a number of security upgrades to third party libraries, a variety of bug fixes, and several new features and improvements. It is recommended that all TDS users upgrade to this version.
NetCDF operators (NCO) version 5.3.5

Version 5.3.5 of the netCDF Operators (NCO) has been released. NCO is an Open Source package that consists of a dozen standalone, command-line programs that take netCDF files as input, then operate (e.g., derive new data, average, print, hyperslab, manipulate metadata) and output the results to screen or files in text, binary, or netCDF formats.
University of Minnesota is Seeking a Data Curation Network Director

The Data Curation Network is a cross-institutional organization based at the University of Minnesota Libraries.

NSF Unidata's Users Committee met in joint session with the Strategic Advisory Committee September 24-26, 2025. The Users Committee will meet next in the spring of 2026.
