Inquiry: I was interested in using the "metar2nc" decoder.  There is one "Sensor Status Indicator" 
that I'm interested in having decoded.  It is the "PNO" indicator.  It is present only when the tipping 
bucket rain gauge is inoperative.  I've looked at both the "cdl" file and the source code in the decoders 
distribution and cannot find any indication of this flag value.

You would think that if the "PNO" indicator were present, the maintenance flag 
"$" would also be present, but inspection of some of the metar data for this month shows 
that to not be the case.

Can you verify that "PNO" is not decoded?  If it isn't, could that be added to 
the decoder?

I work in a research group that models rainfall and temperature variables, so 
reliable precipitation data is very important to us.

Sure, I can add the "PNO" indicator to the decoder.  Is there any other
variables that are missing?  I really haven't look at the Metar
documentation for a long time, almost 5 years ago when I wrote the
decoder. I'll make a alpha release so you can test it.  It will probably
be a  couple of days before I can get to it. Also, do you have a list of
stations using the PNO because most reports only have a limited subset of
all the variables.
