Re: [awips2-users] Conflict with netcdf during AWIPS install

Michael,

Adding the --disablerepo flag didn't change anything for me (I'm installing CAVE, not EDEX, but I assume that doesn't matter). What did work was for me to:
1) yum remove netcdf (which also uninstalled ncview)
2) Run the CAVE install script
3) yum install ncview

Now I have both ncview and the CAVE client working on my machine.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

A solution is to add the --disablerepo=epel argument to the yum groupinstall command to force the install of the netcdf 4.1.2 packages from awips2repo:

yum groupinstall awips2-server  --disablerepo=epel

I'll be updating the installEDEX.sh script with these changes.

    Hi there,

    I just tried installing AWIPS on a machine I haven't put it on
    before, and got:
    Error: Package: awips2-python-scientific-2.8-2.el7.centos.x86_64
    (awips2repo)
                Requires: netcdf = 4.1.2
                Installed: netcdf-4.3.3.1-5.el7.x86_64 (@epel)
                    netcdf = 4.3.3.1-5.el7
                Available: netcdf-4.1.2-1.el7.rf.x86_64 (awips2repo)
                    netcdf = 4.1.2-1.el7.rf
      You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

    I suppose I could edit the script to add the --skip-broken flag to
    yum groupinstall ...
    but would that break ncview on my machine (which depends on the
    netcdf-4.3.3.1 package)? Is there a better way to make it work?

    Thanks,
    Steve
