National Radar Mosaics

NSF Unidata produces and distributes 1 km national NEXRAD3 composites for DHR (Digital Hybrid Reflectivity), DVL (Digital Vert. Integrated Liquid), EET (Enhanced Echo Tops), and HHC (Hybrid Hydrometeor Classification. There are also two legacy products: 2 km N1P (1-hour precipitation), and 4 km NTP (Storm Total Precipitation).
These products are distributes as PNG-compressed GINI format images. NSF Unidata's IDV and AWIPS packages, as well as GEMPAK and McIDAS, support the display of these products.
A set of Multi-Radar/Multi-Sensor System (MRMS) products received via an LDM feed from NCEP/NCO were added to the FNEXRAD feed in late May, 2021. All but one of the products added are in GRIB2 format; the other is a JSON file.
