NSF Unidata's CONDUIT Feed
The Cooperative Opportunity for NCEP Data Using IDD Technology (CONDUIT) employs the LDM/IDD to make high-resolution model data sets available to the U.S. Weather Research Program (USWRP) and university communities. This NCEP gridded data is available from NSF Unidata and consists of a substantial set of NCEP and NWS model data not currently available on NOAAPort.
- The CONDUIT Project Page contains historical information and announcements related to the CONDUIT project.
- Check out the data that are currently included in the CONDUIT feed.
Ancillary Data
-
NCEP Numerical Model Descriptions
Description
The NCEP Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) provides detailed information on the numerical weather models available through the CONDUIT feedtype.
-
NCEP GRIB1 and GRIB2 Documentation
Description
NCEP provides information for WMO GRIB1 and GRIB2, including GRIB grid IDs in both alpha and numeric format.
-
Outline of WMO Bulletin Headers Used With NCEP GRIB
Description
The WMO abbreviated heading is used to identify the NCEP GRIB messages; however, it is not a complete description of their content. The user is cautioned against using the header as the sole determiner of the record content; one should, of course, rely on the Product Definition Section for that purpose.
-
wgrib (GRIB1) Tool
Description
Because there are so many gridded variables that distributed by NOAA, there is reuse of WMO transmission headers. GRIB tools such as wgrib (for GRIB1) or wgrib2 (for GRIB v2) are available to investigate these data products.
-
U.N. Res. 40 Additional Data for ECMWF
Description
Some European (ECMWF) gridded data is also available through WMO agreement (U.N. Resolution 40).
